2023 Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola (EQZE), San Sebastián, Spain — Invited Filmmaker residency in the photochemical laboratory. Projects: Vitanuova and Animalia Paradoxa. Film developing, digital-to-film transfers, film-to-digital transfers and collaborative laboratory work with students in the school’s master’s-level programmes. Laboratory Coordinator: Asier Armental. Developing and digitization collaborators: Celeste Rojas Mugica, Luis Esguerra and Laura Óliver. The residency combined film work with practical exchange with students.  

2020 La Prévôté / ALCA Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Bordeaux, France; Biarritz Amérique Latine — Screenwriting laureate for La muñeca de fuego / The Fire Doll. Awarded residency support; writing continued remotely after cancellation of the physical stay. 

2011–2012 Binger FilmLab Writer’s Lab, Amsterdam, Netherlands — Grant-supported, five-month screenwriting residency for Rey, September 2011–January 2012. Screenplay development ran alongside research into the beginnings of cinema and early filmmaking practices.

2011–2012 EYE Film Institute Netherlands, Amsterdam, and Lobster Films, Paris — Archival research into early cinema undertaken during the Binger residency and development of Rey. Research at EYE’s national film archive and at Lobster Films complemented the screenplay’s development.

2023 IDFA DocLab Forum, Amsterdam, Netherlands — Selected with Celestial Twins / Gemelos celestiales VR. Attended in November; the pitch was not delivered. See Virtual Reality and XR. 

2021–2022 Mediamorfosis / LAB XR, Chile — Development of Gemelos celestiales VR, as Writer/Director. Immersive-project laboratory activity associated with the 2021 Development Award and the 2022 Immersive Taiwan Award; awards are listed with the VR project. 

2021 Santiago LAB Ficción, SANFIC Industria, Chile (online) — Gemelos celestiales, with Producer Giancarlo Nasi. Project-development laboratory; MAFFIZ Award and direct selection to Málaga’s MAFF co-production event. 

2021 Málaga Festival Fund & Co-Production Event (MAFF), Festival de Málaga, Spain — Gemelos celestiales, feature screenplay. Selected project, fourth edition, online development and co-production programme; participation followed the SANFIC Industria / Santiago LAB MAFFIZ Award. Programme scholarship for creative and production training. 

2017 LoboLab, 32nd Mar del Plata International Film Festival, Argentina — Gemelos celestiales. Selected for the 3rd International Co-Production Meetings for fiction feature projects in development, 22–25 November; Atallah participated as Director at the time with Producer Giancarlo Nasi.

2013 Cinéfondation L’Atelier, Festival de Cannes, France — Rey. Selected project; co-production workshop and meetings with international industry professionals. 

2012 TorinoFilmLab Framework — Rey. Script, production and post-production development, with intensive sessions in Malta in March and Italy in November. Production Award at the concluding TorinoFilmLab event. 

2012 CPH:FORUM, Copenhagen, Denmark — Rey. Co-production forum presentation.

2012 rivieraLAB, Riviera Maya Film Festival, Mexico — Rey. Project-development and co-production presentation.

2011 TorinoFilmLab Script & Pitch — Rey. Three intensive workshops in Sweden (March), France (June) and Italy (November). Framework Award at completion.

2010 Australab, FICValdivia, Chile — Rey. Intensive pitching and project-development workshop; prize enabling participation in the Amiens Script Fund competition.

2010 Pavillon Les Cinémas du Monde, Festival de Cannes, France — Rey. Culturesfrance-supported production, co-production and pitching programme.

2010 Cinéma en Développement 5, Cinélatino, Toulouse, France — Rey. Co-production market and project-development selection.

2007 Fundación TyPA, Taller Colón XIV, Colón, Argentina — Lucía (feature). Scholarship for script development, pitching and project analysis in the Taller de Análisis de Proyectos Cinematográficos.

2011 EAVE Puentes — Rey. Project participation through Producer Lucie Kalmar; not a separate personal residency for Atallah. 

2023–2024 Celulo-ia — Researcher in a CORFO-supported Pista B project with Lucas Engel, Felipe Elgueta and Juan Cifuentes. Investigation of artificial intelligence, film archives, celluloid restoration and laboratory practice, including comparative, in-person research at WORM Filmwerkplaats in Rotterdam; Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola (EQZE) in San Sebastián; the archive and laboratory of the Cineteca Nacional de Chile in Santiago; EYE Film Institute / EYE Filmmuseum in Amsterdam, with a guided investigation of film-restoration methods and storage of historical film stock; Haghefilm in Amsterdam; and LABO in Mexico City.

2011 El zapato chino (Cristián Sánchez, 1979) — Archival reissue and DVD preparation for Uqbar Editores, Cine Chileno de Autor collection. Supervision of a new scan of the 16mm print at Chile Films / Cinecolor; Spanish-to-English retranslation, English subtitling and preparation of a new DVD edition. 

2011 Cien niños esperando un tren (Ignacio Agüero, 1988) — Spanish-to-English retranslation, English subtitling and preparation of a new DVD edition for Uqbar Editores, Cine Chileno de Autor collection, undertaken alongside the El zapato chino reissue work.
