Twelve-hour workshop for 15 participants on material intervention in 35mm celluloid, including rotoscopy, painting and scratching, chemical and ink baths, cutting and collage, artisanal transfer, scanning and hand telecine, and frame-by-frame intervention of 16mm and 35mm positives. The workshop culminated in a collectively made short film.

The talk reflected on the use of archives in cinema, considering the archive not only as historical record but as a tool of the imagination; it addressed an ecology of images, recycling and placing newly filmed material in dialogue with pre-existing images, and the ethical questions raised by reuse and appropriation.
